Entrance Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Passing Assessment Scores (WorkKeys Math & Locating at a level 4, WorkKeys Reading at a level 5,  Wonderlic score of 20 plus the Physical Fitness test at 50% of the OPOTA requirement)
  • Be 21 years or older by one month prior to completion of program
  • Hold a valid Ohio driver's license
  • Acceptable criminal background investigation (BCI/FBI check)
  • NO felonies
  • Documentation of a recent medical physical (within a year)

The WCSCC Law Enforcement Training Academy meets or exceeds the minimum requirements in all areas of training established by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Council (OPOTC) to become certified as a peace officer in the state of Ohio. Our instructors are recognized as leaders in local, county, state, and federal agencies and are certified to instruct the Ohio Peace Officer Training Council curriculum.  As a police officer, you will respond to calls for help, collect physical evidence, conduct criminal investigations, patrol neighborhoods to keep residents safe, and enforce criminal and traffic laws.
 

This intensive 700 hour program meets Monday through Thursday evenings 6 - 10 pm and some Saturdays from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. with 1 hour lunch break. Next start date is Sept.  2017.
